Smart Water Submetering

Water Sub-metering with Bruntab Smart Meters

In apartments and multi-unit residential complexes, water consumption is communal. Bruntab installs smart water meters to measure each unit's actual consumption and issues separate sub-bills for every unit.

Communal water consumption in buildings forces low-consumption units to pay for high-consumption ones, and water leaks go undetected

The communal nature of water consumption, or in other words, the lack of separation of water meters for units and shared payment for water shares, has become one of the biggest problems and concerns for residents and management of residential, administrative, and commercial buildings. The exponential increase in water bills has also raised the costs for units, and the lack of clarity regarding each unit's consumption forces low consumers to pay as much as high consumers from the main bill.

The heavy amounts of water bills and complaints from apartment residents about the unfair distribution of costs lead building management to consider seeking the separation of water meters for each unit and the separation of the building's water connection.

Bruntab Energy, by installing a smart sub-metering system for each unit, not only separates the apartment water meters but also issues a monetary bill for each unit based on actual consumption using its advanced software. Each unit can view their meter consumption on mobile and computer, and this system easily allows for the identification of leaks in the building.

A solution for reducing customers’ water bills by 30% to 70%

Bruntab Energy, with knowledge acquired from Brunata Denmark and 14 years of experience, provides innovative sub-metering solutions for water consumption in buildings. By installing a water meter for each unit and connecting it to the software platform, we measure each unit's consumption and leaks and issue monetary bills.

In large cities and towns, the water and sewage department installs one meter at the building's entrance and sends one bill for all residents. This situation prevents the accurate calculation of units' consumption or communal areas of the building, such as parking lots and rooftops, and building management seeks solutions for separating water meters for apartments and residential complexes through the city's water and sewage department.

Bruntab Energy, with over 14 years of experience (transferring technical knowledge from Denmark) in separating water, electricity, and gas bills for residential buildings, provides the ability to record the exact water consumption of each meter via the internet by installing cold and hot sub-meters after the shut-off valve of each unit and installing meter reading devices. This consumption data, which is stored and viewable every hour in the Bruntab system, is used to separate the water bill from the water and sewage department.

To fairly separate the water bill, we need to know the actual consumption of each unit. Therefore, to measure water consumption, a meter must be installed at the water entry point of the apartments. In the Bruntab system, the hourly consumption of each meter will be viewable. When the main water bill for the building is issued, the building manager logs into Bruntab's online software, and a separate bill is issued by the software for each unit in PDF format, which can be sent or printed by the manager.

Advantages of Bruntab's Smart Water Segmentation System

This system is primarily designed for separating communal water meters of apartments, installing sub-meters, and issuing separate water bills for each unit. This technology not only helps building managers monitor each unit's water consumption more accurately but also provides residents the ability to monitor their own water consumption. This system significantly impacts optimizing water consumption and reducing financial waste.

No need for manual reading by an agent or meter owner

Ability to detect water leaks in units

Access for all residents to view consumption levels

Determination of average consumption and identification of high-consuming units at any moment

Reduction in the amount of plumbing and space occupied by pipes in buildings under construction

Determination of the exact consumption of communal areas
